NY Connects is New York State's statewide information and assistance program for long-term care, providing a single point of entry for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers seeking services. Trained specialists help connect individuals with community-based services including home care, meals, transportation, and adult day programs. NY Connects can help with Medicare questions, Medicaid applications, caregiver resources, and locating the full range of services available in each county across the state.

New York's HIICAP provides free, confidential Medicare counseling through more than 700 trained counselors at local offices for the aging statewide.

The Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) is New York State's SHIP program, part of the national network offering free Medicare counseling to beneficiaries and their families. With over 700 trained counselors at local Area Agencies on Aging across the state, HIICAP helps New Yorkers understand Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D; navigate options for supplemental coverage; apply for programs that help with Medicare costs; and resolve billing issues and complaints. Counseling is available statewide via phone or in-person appointments.
